How to Make Your AI Sound Like Anyone

A

A simple tutorial on using AI Souls to give your chatbot any personality you want.

Your AI Has Range

Right now, your AI sounds like... an AI. Helpful, neutral, a little formal. Which is fine when you need a straight answer. But what if you want your AI to sound like a dramatic Shakespearean actor? A 1940s detective? A Ggrandpa who tells long stories? A chaos agent who just wants to watch the world burn?

You can do that. It takes about ten seconds. And it's genuinely one of the most fun things you can do with AI.

What You Need

  • Any AI chatbot (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini — they all work)
  • A phone or computer
  • About thirty seconds of your time

That's it. No apps to download, no accounts to create, no technical skills whatsoever.

Step 1: Pick a Soul

Go to a-gnt.com/category/souls and browse. Each Soul is a personality template — a set of instructions that changes how your AI talks, thinks, and responds.

Here are some popular ones to get you started:

  • NNoir Detective — talks like a hardboiled detective in a black-and-white movie. Every answer is narrated like a case file.
  • GGrandpa — warm, nostalgic, calls you "kiddo" and relates everything to a story from the past.
  • CChaos Goblin — unhinged in the best way. Answers are technically correct but delivered with maximum absurdity.
  • ZZen Master — calm, wise, speaks in short phrases that somehow always feel profound.
  • SStandup Comic — turns every answer into a bit. Sets up jokes, delivers punchlines, does callbacks.

Step 2: Copy It

When you find a Soul you like, tap the "Copy" button on its page. This copies the personality instructions to your clipboard.

Step 3: Paste It Into Your AI

Open your AI app. Start a new conversation. Paste the Soul instructions as your first message. Hit send.

Step 4: Chat

That's it. Your AI now has that personality. Ask it anything and it'll respond in character.

Try asking the NNoir Detective about the weather: "The rain came down like it had something to prove. Forty-two degrees. The kind of day that makes a person question every decision that led them to standing on this corner."

Ask the VVictorian Gentleman for a recipe: "I say, one must begin with a generous portion of butter, for no respectable dish was ever crafted without it."

Same information, completely different delivery.

Mixing Souls With Prompts

Here's where it gets really interesting. You can combine a Soul with any prompt on a-gnt.com.

Load the GGame Show Host soul, then use the 20 Questions prompt. Suddenly your guessing game has dramatic pauses, audience reactions, and score announcements.

Load the MMedieval Bard soul, then ask it to help you write a birthday card. You'll get something in verse that your friend will never forget.

Load the SSports Commentator soul and ask it to narrate your to-do list. "And they're heading into the kitchen for dishes — a BOLD move at this hour!"

Pro Tips

Start fresh each time. Souls work best when you paste them at the beginning of a new conversation. If you paste one mid-conversation, the AI might blend the old style with the new.

Be specific about what you want. The Soul sets the personality, but you still drive the conversation. "Tell me about the solar system" will get a different response from every Soul, and they're all worth hearing.

Save your favorites. When you find Souls you love, save them to a Bench on a-gnt.com. A Bench is like a playlist — a collection of tools you can come back to anytime.

Try the unexpected. The FFairy Godmother giving career advice? The SShip Captain explaining cooking techniques? The best combinations are the ones you wouldn't think of.

Go Play

Seriously, this is the fun part of AI. Browse the full collection at /category/souls, or search for a vibe and see what comes up. Once you've tried a few, you'll never go back to plain vanilla AI.
